MR BASILIOS PSILACOS


Vasili.jpgBasilios Psilacos completed his BTh at St Andrew’s Greek Orthodox Theological College in Sydney, and his MTh Hons at the Aristotelian University of Thessalonica. His first Byzantine music teacher wasthe Archon Protopsaltis Mr Ilias Fraggoulis, his following teacher was the late Archon Protopsaltis Mr Antonios Aristodemou. In Thessalonica, his teacher was the late Archon Music teacher and Protopsaltis of the Ecumenical Patriachate Mr Demetrios Sourlantzis. While in Thessalonica, he received his degree and graduate diploma of Byzantine music, he took part in various Byzantine music choirs, and chanted for the liturgical services at the Holy Monastery of Vlatathon with the Professor of Byzantine music Mr Antonios Alygizakis. Between the years 2005 and 2009, Basilios undertook chiropractice studies at Macquarie University, Sydney. Having taught Byzantine music at St Andrew's in 2001 and 2002, Basilios has been instructing the students of the college consistently since 2007.
