Lecture by the Very Revd Anastasios Bozikis, Lecturer in Church History

On Monday evening 23^rd June 2025, our Church History Lecturer, Father Anastasios Bozikis presented a talk entitled ‘Ministry in the Orthodox Church’ to the youth group at Archangel Michael Parish, Crows Nest. He traced the development of the three-fold ministry of bishop – priest – deacon in the first and second centuries AD reflecting on the Scriptural witness and the writings of the Apostolic Fathers, especially St Clement of Rome and St Ignatios of Antioch. This was then compared to the contemporary experience of clerical ministry in the Orthodox Church to demonstrate its unbroken continuity with early Church .
